Mantrac Distribution and our strategic partner, Alkan Telecom, demonstrated IBM’s latest POWER and Data Storage Solutions at IBM customer conference held on Wednesday, 26th June 2019, at The Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel specially for Alkan Telecom’s enterprise customer.

The conference commenced by Ahmed El-Kahky, Solutions Business Unit Manager – Mantrac Distribution, who emphasized Mantrac Distribution’s strategy being a Value-Added-Distributor (VAD) for resellers, partners, and solution providers as well as for end-customers. He also highlighted the key services offered by Mantrac Distribution such as, Solutions Consultation, Knowledge Transfer, Proof of Concept (POC), Professional Services and Professional Logistics. 

Then, Sameh Waguih, Pre-Sales Director – Alkan Telecom, welcomed the guests and briefed them about Alkan Telecom’s services as a system integrator delivering end to end turnkey solutions that support clients' business needs from inception to completion and enable them to gain a competitive advantage today and tomorrow. He explicated further as he touched on the latest IBM project executed with Mantrac Distribution implementing a high-end communication convergence solution.

Following, Ahmed Hassan, IBM Product Manager – Mantrac Distribution, focused on IBM POWER9. IBM POWER9 is built to handle the most demanding, data-intensive workloads imaginable; from mission-critical enterprise applications and in-memory databases to big data, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. At the same time, they offer the flexibility to support a wide range of operating systems plus the scalability for growing cloud environments. 

Next, Gehad Hammad, System Service - IBM,  explained why LinuxONE is the right infrastructure for the most secure cloud as it protects your clients’ data and avoid data breach headlines with security that’s engineered in, not bolted on.  He touched on LinuxONE servers' pervasive encryption, lightning speed, massive scalability, and great economics and briefly discussed IBM LinuxONE Rockhopper II as the server sized to fit any cloud data center.

Finally, Kareem El-Fouly, Solutions Sales Consultant – Mantrac Distribution, moved on to IBM Storage Solutions with a focus on IBM® Storwize® V5010E and IBM Storwize V5030E as IBM’s newest entry-level solutions designed to provide enterprise-grade functionalities without compromising affordability or performance. He explained how IBM® Storwize® V5010E and IBM Storwize V5030E help lower capital and operational storage costs as they are built with IBM Spectrum Virtualize software. He added Storwize V5000E helps make modern technologies such as artificial intelligence accessible to enterprises of all sizes.
